The Sydney Metropolitan Baseball League operates baseball competitions across the Sydney basin.
About Us
The Sydney Metropolitan League came into being when the NSW Baseball League abandoned the NSW Metro League competition in 2003. Individual membership is only available through clubs or Leagues. Club Membership is an annual charge payable in either April or September each year, and is open to all Clubs and Leagues in the Sydney area.
It is affiliated with Baseball NSW and with the Australian Baseball Federation, but is administered independently by a small group of volunteers.
Membership fees are available on application. All players must be members of Baseball NSW.
Competitions exist for all levels of player from A Grade to H Grade. Although we do not conduct competitions at the elite level we like to recall the words of a former Commissioner of NSW Baseball:
We need to have PRIDE …
We need to have PASSION …
… and then we will have PERFORMANCE.
Would you like to umpire?
Do you know anyone who might like to umpire on a Saturday afternoon? If so, please pass this message on.
Not as fast as you used to be?
First base is looking a long way away?
Looking for some ‘pocket money’?
Looking to get out of mowing the lawn on Saturday?
Thinking of giving away playing but still love the game?
We’re always keen to hear from ex-players who may be interested in umpiring in the summer competition.
